Approximately 10% of boys aged 6 through 12 are taking psychotropic medication, that is just an appalling statistic. In the early 1990's there was a huge spike in children being diagnosed A.D.H.D., and subsequently being put on Ritalin. At that time, several things happened, the federal government awarded schools more money based upon more children being diagnosed with A.D.H.D., and also for low income families, if a child was put on Ritalin, the family received a lot more money monthly.

Between 1995 and 2000, the number of psychotropic drugs of all kinds, for kids, more than doubled. The problem with being a child in America today compared to 20 or 30 year ago is that, if you are different, if you are extremely agitated or extremely active, you will fall under the gaze of the helping professions, or the "so called helping professions." The psycho-pharmaceutical companies realized a while ago, that there was huge profits to be made, on playing on the parents’ fears, and also playing on a generation of parents that were looking for the convenient way to raise children. A.D.H.D. is a means of making paying patients out of normal individuals, and once they are given a prescription, and put on medications that are virtually never discontinued, they have lifetime paying patients, that is what is behind the epidemic.

Each morning in the United States between 6 million and 9 million children are given a prescription medication before they go to school. Many of these children are taking Ritalin or Amphetamines. More and more aspects of human behavior, human distress, or general unhappiness is becoming medicalized, it's being made into diseases. This culture has been made into parallels with the growth of the pharmaceutical industries, and it's investments in psychotropic drugs, drugs that affect the mind, the psyche.

Children that grew up during the 1960's would go out and play for 3 hours after school, and had significant higher levels of social interaction among their friends, and did not have the high levels of demands placed upon them, (giving them a much greater ability to develop into their natural self) compared to the children of this generation enduring the pressure of the American society creating the idea in parents minds that they need to micro-manage the lives of their children by providing a great amount of distraction in their childrens' lives by which has caused many children to not have the ability to develop into their natural self, thus many children seem to appear that they are manifesting A.D.H.D., when in fact they are merely overly distracted by the high demands placed upon them by their parents, leading to higher levels of emotional energy that is all too commonly diagnosed by psychiatrists as A.D.H.D., therefore placing a mis-diagnoses on perfectly physiologically and psychologically healthy children.

This occurrence has all too often ruined the lives of healthy individuals, since they have received a lifelong chronic mis-diagnoses of A.D.H.D. "The children with the most energy and with the most creativity are the children that are getting into the most trouble, because they are not falling into the "groove" or falling into the "pattern". "They can't wait their turn, they raise their hand." "That's not fair to them, that's not what should be happening, what should happen is that their energy that they have, (which is beautiful) should be channeled, and it should be channeled into a direction where they can create with that energy, and use that channeled energy in a positive way, instead of it being used against them, and that they are not "following the norm."

It's frightening how easy it is for children to be diagnosed. They are being diagnosed by school teachers, school personnel or all types in all school districts across the country. "You nearly see that all around the U.S.A., Canada, Australia, and in the U.K. -- that children are being seen as a disease." "We are beginning to see that all around the world, children are being seen as a disease, because of the mass efforts of America exporting its view of children to the rest of the world."
